Glen Rock Dog Park To Dedicate 9/11 Search & Rescue Dog Statue in Honor of 25th Anniversary

GLEN ROCK, NJ — The Glen Rock NJ Dog Park will host a special community ceremony on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 5 p.m. to dedicate a new 9/11 Search & Rescue Dog Statue, honoring the heroic dogs and handlers who served in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The dedication, taking place as the nation commemorates the 25th anniversary of 9/11, will establish a permanent tribute at the Glen Rock Dog Park to the hundreds of Search & Rescue Dogs who worked alongside their handlers at Ground Zero and other sites following the attacks.
These remarkable canine teams searched tirelessly through the devastation, providing critical assistance, as well as comfort and hope, during one of the darkest moments in our nation’s history.

The bronze statue and memorial will honor not only the dogs’ extraordinary courage, loyalty and unwavering service, but also the dedicated handlers who worked beside them.
The project was spearheaded by the Glen Rock NJ Dog Park nonprofit organization and funded through community donations, allowing the memorial to be created at no cost to the Borough of Glen Rock.
Members of the community, local officials, first responders, veterans, dog lovers and families are warmly invited to attend the dedication ceremony.
