Jasper County K9 on the mend after handlers quick-thinking leads to lifesaving surgery
JASPER COUNTY, Texas — A beloved member of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is on the road to recovery following an emergency surgery that may have saved his life.
Leroy, a longtime K9 for the department, began showing signs of illness late last week during a deployment. His handler, Lt. Chad Ainsworth, quickly arranged for a medical evaluation at Main Street Veterinary Clinic in Lumberton, where Leroy has received care for the past six years.
