Massillon Police Department introduces K-9 Luka
MASSILLON, Ohio (WOIO) – There’s four new paws enforcing the laws in Massillon!
The Massillon Police Department introduced K-9 Luka as their newest team member on Monday.
Luka is a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd who will serve as a dual-purpose K-9 trained in patrol functions and narcotics detection, MPD shared.
MPD said Luka and his partner in fighting crime, Ptl. Anthony, officially began training with the Police K-9 Association on Monday.
“Over the coming weeks, Luka and his handler will be working side by side to build a strong bond and develop the skills needed to serve our community and surrounding areas,” MPD K-9 Unit stated. “Please join us in welcoming K9 Luka, and wishing him and Ptl. Anthony good luck as they start their journey together.”
