Tucson K-9 Raven to be honored at national memorial in Washington

WASHINGTON (KVOA) – A local K-9 hero who made the ultimate sacrifice will be honored at a national memorial ceremony.
K-9 Raven, who died on July 5, 2025, from his injuries sustained in the line of duty in October 2023, will be among 23 fallen K-9 heroes recognized by the National Police Dog Foundation. The ceremony will take place in Washington, D.C., on May 11 at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
The event will bring together handlers, families and supporters to recognize the service and sacrifice of these brave K-9s. The National Police Dog Foundation has been supporting K-9 units nationwide since 1998.
The foundation is also offering sweatshirts and hats, with 100% of proceeds supporting the purchase, training and veterinary care of active and retired police K-9s. Every purchase directly contributes to the foundation’s mission of supporting police K9 units across the country.
